Super cute little shop in the Covent Garden area. If you’ve finished a meal without dessert, this is the perfect place to drop by. The shop has a cute custard tart colour theme going on, and always feels upbeat despite being empty both times I visited.
They offer hot drinks like coffee and tea, but I haven’t ordered any when I dropped by for a tart.
Yes, ok, £2 for a tart might seem kind of steep for tourists but really worthwhile if you would just taste it. Plus, the first time we went in to try one, the nice girls at the counter gave us another for free and made our initial impression that much better.
I don’t have a good scale of reference for how good Portuguese tarts can get, but I think Nata’s custard tart is the bee’s knees. I’m so used to the asian style egg tarts that when I realised the filling could be custard instead of egg my mind was blown.
